I have researched other cover bands like Group Therapy and I came across Indigo Black, an indie, rock, pop cover band.
They cover songs from such artists as; King of Leon, Kaiser Chiefs, The Clash, Razorlight, U2, Take That, Blink 182 and Foo Fighters.
Although these bands covered are slightly newer and leaning more to the rock genre, cover bands are not very common in today’s music world, probably as they would be accused by the media as being unoriginal.
Indigo Black also attend weddings and they describe them self as ‘professional, experienced cover band for your wedding that DOESN’T play Mustang Sally’ – this is very controversial as one of the options that Group Therapy were going to perform in our music video was Mustang Sally. This shows that Group Therapy is trying to go with the tradition and conventions of a cover band at a wedding. This may also reflect their clothing and the set in the video.
“Indigo Black is a tight, professional four-piece cover band. Although from diverse backgrounds, the members all bring a vast experience and a shared passion for the music they play: an up-tempo, considered collection of popular contemporary rock, pop and indie.
This is clearly evident in the enthusiasm, spirit and crisp presentation of an Indigo Black gig. By purposefully forming a modern set and ensuring their music reflects what people are currently buying and listening to, the band has established a firm (and ever-expanding) fan base and busy diary of significant gigs – as well as regular private work throughout the country, Indigo Black have supported both Alphabeat and chart-toppers The Hoosiers to a crowd of over 2000, with plans afoot for further slots with big-name acts at the end of this year.” www.indigoblack.co.uk

On Indigo Black’s website, their music videos are of them performing which is a convention of a band music video. Their set up is also very clear, which is the lead singer at the front, drums at the back and guitarists surrounding. The lead singer clearly has the most screen time. We have decided that we will use a very similar layout within our own music video.
Another cover band I found is Zero Hour.
Zero Hour was formed in early 1994. All band members have an established background within the music industry, with a large roster of acts to their names. They are all professional musicians.
"Usually performing as a four piece line up, they utilise sequencers where material demands it. Occasionally they employ additional musicians to enhance the line up for larger events. All their occasional musicians are fully professional, having many years experience within the music industry. Some continue to work with 'name' acts on a regular basis."
"Every member of Zero Hour has huge experience playing live; they have played all over the country at over 600 events. Within the last year, they have played at numerous high profile venues. They continue to play at all types of venues in the UK and occasionally tour in Europe."
“Because of this wide experience they refuse to compromise on the quality of our sound. they provide our own P.A. system, which has been put together to specifically meet the needs of the band. This gives them total control over our performance. All sound and lighting equipment is provided as part of our comprehensive entertainment package.”

They also have a P.A specification section within their website, this proves that they are very professional and have gone into great detail and effort within their website.
Zero Hour have gained an enviable reputation for delivering well played classic songs with a quality sound. Their extensive range of material ensures that there is always something for everyone!

This band slightly differs from the previous band Indigo black as they have a much larger selection of genre which increases their target audience, as shown below - taken from their website.
Now in its seventh year, "The Deadbeats" is a well-established wedding and party band that has performed over 900 shows throughout the UK at weddings, private functions, Walkabout Inns and Butlins Holiday Camps.
Highlights include appearances with favourites such as The Sugababes, The Vengaboys, Busted, Westlife, S-Club 8, Ricky Hatton, Roy "Chubby" Brown, TV star Will Mellor and the cast of "Chicago- The Musical".
Such experience and variety means that The Deadbeats can guarantee a highly professional and entertaining approach suitable for any audience and occasion.
Like Zero Hour, they have a different selection of songs from clearly layed out time zones. This appeals to all types of people at all weddings from 1950 to 2000.
